One hundred and
sixty two delegates from around Australia gathered to connect,
inspire and encourage fellow Evangelicals within the Uniting
Church and beyond.
-
There are now 150
congregations who have now joined ACC and wish to be identified
that they hold the Bible to be God’s Inspired Word.
06-07 110 cong., 07-08 144 cong., 08-09 150 cong.

The Conference began
with worship with a flame entering the building symbolising EMU,
RA and ACC coming together as One unity in the Spirit. Max
Champion, Chair of ACC began with the theme, “The Narrow Way is
the way of freedom”.
-
Good doctrine should
be at our heart as we struggle with some sections of the church
that have set Truth aside.
-
The culture of
society asks for half a Gospel. Jesus is the cutting edge. The
Bible is a locked book apart from Him.
-
The pamphlet, Vision
and Goals 2007-2017 was promoted as a way forward for ACC. ACC
-
Catalyst needs to be
promoted throughout our congregations.
-
As part of social
action on behalf of ACC, on Saturday morning the speaker was
Marcia Riordan from Respect Life Office Roman Catholic - Melbourne. In
Australia 90,000 abortions per yr; 1 in 3 women at some stage in
their lives have an abortion with all the grief and after effects
associated with that. ACC has pro life stance on this issue.
-
It was a very
encouraging conference to attend and to see the ray of hope for
the Evangelicals within the Uniting Church in Australia.
-
There was an air of
expectancy that the ACC will continue to grow and be a very
relevant part of the U.C.A.
-
Next year, Qld has
the privilege of hosting the Annual Conference. I hope that some
people from PPUC will attend as it will be held in our ‘backyard’,
(ie) the South East corner of Qld.

My thanks is
expressed to the Church Council and congregation for allowing me
to be your representative at the ACC annual Conference.
