Pastoral Chatter

September/October 2008

Please continue to pray for our suggested Monthly Prayer Points. Try to include these prayers also ~ Peace within our own families and extended families and God's mercy, strength and loving-kindness to the sick, discouraged and persecuted.

Our congratulations go to Maggie Angus who was awarded a prize for one of her paintings that she entered in the Gold Coast Show. How blessed we are to have such talented people in our church family.

Our first Trivia Night provided lots of laughter and fellowship. Thank you for an enjoyable evening. Our next one is scheduled for Thursday 4th December at 1.30pm.

Our appreciation goes to our Children's Church for making and supplying the Father's Day Scrolls (for fathers to keep) with chocolate bar attached. Also what great entertainment, including our lovable clown was provided by our own church family and not to mention the scrumptious food at our Family Day Brunch.

We extend warmest congratulations to Gordon and Mavis Allan who celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary with family and friends.

Happy 93rd Birthday goes to Norma Jenkins. What a great achievement. There are many who are celebrating birthdays during this period ~ too numerous to mention, but special wishes go to these folk who have passed the wonderful milestone of 80 years ~ Godfrey, Auriel, Ken, Doris, jack, Henrik, Keith, Dorothy (90) and Nan. Happy Birthday goes to each of you. (Also includes those of whom I haven't mentioned).

For those who enjoy knitting ~ Woollen scarves are required for distribution to ladies who reside in Aged Care facilities before next winter. If you wish to assist, please see me.

Don't forget our 'Shut-In' Service on 9th October at 10.00am. You may like to invite one or two and bring them along.

Thank you to everyone who has been tirelessly working very hard in preparation for our Garage Sale on October 25th.

Love requires sharing, sharing requires struggle, struggle requires faith and faith requires love.
